Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Kingdom Hotel Investments and IFA Hotels & Resorts jointly acquired five properties (a total of 439 rooms) in Kenya, comprising the renowned Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, the Mount Kenya Safari Club, the Aberdare Country Club, the Ark and the Mara Safari Club. Following approximately US$ 25 million of enhancements, all five properties will be renamed and managed as Fairmont hotels. IFA has invested an equity stake in the portfolio.

Hotels in the Portfolio:

- Norfolk Hotel – opened in 1904 with 167 rooms
- Mount Kenya Safari Club – opened in 1959 with 114 rooms
- Aberdare Country Club – opened in 1968 with 48 rooms
- The Ark – opened in 1972 with 60 rooms
- Mara Safari Club – opened in 1989 with 50 rooms

The hotels are all currently undergoing a significant capital investment programme.
