With a global portfolio growing at a steadfast rate, IFA Hotels &
Resorts (IFA HR) is delighted to be making its first foray into the
idyllic Seychelles with the addition of a luxurious hotel, residences
and village marina on the 480 acre (1,942,491 square metres)
island of Ste Anne. Named ‘Zilwa’ meaning ‘islander’ in the local
Creole language, the development is a joint venture partnership
with Indian Ocean Resorts Ltd (IOR).
Zilwa will offer buyers and visitors alike a combination of tranquil
island living, security, privacy and understated style, wedded to
world-class services. The atmosphere ranges from calm to heady,
depending on where they choose to spend their time.
The US$ 450 million mixed-use development covers the whole of
the island of Ste Anne and will consist of a five star hotel,
serviced residences and ultra luxurious facilities and amenities,
including
a marina.
Zilwa’s residential mix will include premium beach front ocean
villas, secluded hillside villas, luxury marina apartments, exquisite
penthouses and a Private Residence Club. The granitic makeup of
Ste Anne, which rises up to 250 metres, provides Zilwa with this
unique variety of residential opportunities. For example, the
oceanfront villas and the marina apartments complement the
ambience of the marina, while the hillside villas offer a sense of
seclusion and serenity, as does the onsite spa. Each cater to a
distinctive lifestyle, yet work together harmoniously in terms of
design.
Most importantly, every aspect of the development’s design is a
modern, chic interpretation of the Ste Anne landscape set against
the breathtaking backdrop of the azure waters of the Indian
Ocean. Zilwa is the epicentre of the Ste Anne Marine National
Park. The marina will offer boating enthusiasts a stunning centrepiece
of activity, while several infinity pools, a world-renowned
spa and a sophisticated beach club will provide the perfect retreat
for those looking to ‘get away from it all’ .
Werner comments: “Zilwa is the perfect addition to our portfolio
and a natural choice for our next development, offering the
high-end investor or tourist the best of everything. This joint
venture with Indian Ocean Resorts Ltd provides a synergy for
both companies to expand further into the Seychelles, while
maintaining our commitment to develop integrated mixed-use
destinations that offer our clients a variety of asset classes to live
or invest in.”

The Seychelles Islands...
come experience another world
1,600 kilometres due east of the
Kenyan coast lies one of the
world’s most luxuriant destinations
– the Seychelles islands.
Among the archipelago of 115
sparkling islands, is the tropical
paradise that appears in countless
advertisements and glossy travel
brochures. But however seductive
the images, they simply can't
compete with the real-life dazzling
beaches and crystal-clear waters.
Inhabited for a mere 250 years,
the Seychelles islands are still
unbelievably untouched. Primaeval
beauty cascades down from
lushly forested granite peaks,
through ancient hillside glades to
the grandeur of a pristine, sapphire
ocean, all set against a
backdrop of the rhythms, colours
and flavours of Africa and gris gris
- the local brand of black magic.
A bird watchers paradise, home to
some spectacular seabird colonies
- as well as 13 species and 17
subspecies that occur nowhere
else on earth, the islands also
hold some of the rarest species of
flora and fauna on the planet.
Far-sighted conservation policies
have resulted in an enviable
degree of protection of the environment
and the varied ecosystems
it supports – unique
endemic species like the Coco de
Mer, the Jellyfish tree, the Seychelles
Paradise Flycatcher and
the Seychelles Warbler.
The Seychelles islands today
remain a sanctuary, not only for
some of the rarest life forms on
earth, but also for modern travellers
grown weary of the ordinary
and the mundane in their holiday
experiences elsewhere. Islandhopping,
diving, fishing, sailing
and trekking opportunities abound
as well as a chance to become
part of the vibrant, Seychellios
Creole culture with its unique
character and timeless island
ways. |
