In the shadow of the imposing Hanglip mountain, lies IFA Hotels
& Resorts’ newly acquired Legend Golf & Safari Resort development,
our first exciting venture into the wildlife hospitality market.
The development forms part of the 22,000ha (220 million square
metres) Big Five Entabeni Safari Conservancy, situated in South
Africa’s Limpopo Province.
The first of its kind in the world, the resort will epitomise the
unique lifestyle of the bush. The design and layout of Legend has
been undertaken in such a manner as to minimise the impact on
the natural surroundings and preserve the unspoiled bush environment,
thus making the resort one of the most eco-friendly in
Africa.
The Big Five (lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards and black
rhinos) will roam freely on the Savannah grasslands amongst the
exceptional residential estate which will include an internationally
branded five star hotel with health spa and wellness centre; a
Welcome Centre and Club House; a variety of boutique shops;
dining options; as well as entertainment and leisure facilities for
the whole family.
An exceptional residential estate comprising of privately owned
lodges will be complimented by an 18-hole PGA Championship
golf course, recreational facilities, Wellness Centre, and boutique
hotel.
With a total development cost expected to exceed US$ 411
million, Legend is an invaluable contributor to IFA HR’s strategy to
expand into the most beautiful corners of the globe.
The local community also stands to benefit from the development
through the establishment of the Legend Foundation, which will
be involved in a variety of sports such as soccer, rugby, netball,
hockey, tennis and cricket at the Fields of Legends complex, in
conjunction with associated sports academies. Educational sports
programs offered at these academies will assist in the training of
talented youngsters from the Limpopo Province.
